A reporter has discovered why you should always hold onto your belongings tightly.

The Russian journalist was doing a live cross about the weather when a curious golden retriever came up and took her microphone.

Nadezhda Serezhkina clearly didn't realise how intent this dog was on stealing her equipment and tried her best to prevent the mishap from becoming a viral moment.

Sadly, she failed.

The dog ran away and the reporter was forced to chase after it, all while the camera captured every second and beamed it live back to the studio.

Mir TV anchor Elina Dashkueva tried her best to move the situation on and told the viewers (according to Mediaite): "It looks like we have lost the connection to our correspondent. We will try to connect with her momentarily."

The video of the incident has gone absolutely viral on social media and people were in stitches watching the reporter try to get control of the situation.

Thankfully, reporter Nadezhda Serezhkina was able to get the microphone back and she even managed to tame the stray dog enough to get it to appear on camera.

The golden retriever looked very pleased to be an international celebrity and couldn't stop smiling as the weather reporter wrapped up her hilarious day on the job.

She explained to the viewers that no one was harmed in the incident, however her microphone did suffer a few bite marks.

Everyone always tells you not to mix animals or children with the likes of television as they are both incredibly unpredictable.

Another weather reporter found this out last year when he was forced to do his update from home due to the pandemic.

Fox News 13-Tampa Bay's chief meteorologist Paul Dellegatto was interrupted by his adorable golden retriever during his broadcast.

Paul was in the middle of explaining how the temperatures were going to track over the next few days in April when Brody hit his head on the device that helped the forecast animations work.

"That wasn't quite smart," Dellegatto said to Brody during the live broadcast.

The weatherman asked Brody to jump up on his lap and get the attention he was desperately craving while still giving the forecast. This guy is a professional first and a dog lover second. Maybe they're equal.

Paul hinted that the mid-broadcast interruption could be due to Brody wanting to be fed and promised the good doggo he'd get some food after everything was done.
