Eagle-eyed viewers reckon they’ve figured out how magician Dynamo managed to dig himself out of a six-foot grave in his latest death-defying stunt.
The 40-year-old magician took on his ‘final act’ in one-off show Dynamo Is Dead, which aired last night (Thursday 14 December).
Ahead of the two-hour long special, Dynamo - whose real name is Steven Frayne - shared that he was happy to ditch his old persona and the show was a way for him to do that.

"Personally, I feel that over the last few years, I have identified less and less with the Dynamo that everybody seems to know," Frayne told LADbible.
"I think the pressures of having been that character just felt very overwhelming. I felt like I needed to take a step away and just kind of find myself again before I come back.
"I think the old me is always going to be there somewhere inside. But I found a new type of magic that I want to share. I feel for me when I think of the old Dynamo that part of me is dead."
For those who missed it, the special saw Dynamo getting into a six-foot deep hole before a whopping five tonnes of soil was dumped on him, effectively burying him alive. I got a bit claustrophobic just thinking about that, to be honest.

The magician then had just three minutes to get himself out of the ‘grave’ before he ran out of air and suffocated.
As you may have gathered, Dynamo managed it - hence you’re reading this and not his obituary - and was out from under the soil and gulping down fresh air after two minutes and 47 seconds.
Like all good magicians, Bradford-born Dynamo does not reveal his secrets, but eagle-eyed viewers reckon they may have figured it out nonetheless.
They reckon that there was a brief 20-second window during which the camera changed angle, which would have given Dynamo enough time to get up onto his feet, meaning that when the soil was dropped on top of him he was already pretty close to the surface.
This means, that he would simply need to control his breathing for a couple of minutes until he was ready for his ‘ta-dah’ moment.

Taking to X, one viewer said: “The camera pans away from the bottom of the hole for about 20 seconds whilst the digger drops the dirt. By the time the camera pans back, he’s already near the top. From that point it’s a breath control exercise.”
Another commented: “'Anyone watch Buried Alive with Dynamo?! Obviously what happened was they chucked a couple of buckets of dirt on him. The camera panned away and he stood up before the tipper whacked the five ton on him!”
While a third said: “So, when the camera moved away and you couldn't see the grave, he probably stood up or crouched down before the rest of the dirt went down. Then he held his breath for a bit before climbing out.”
