Here Are Some Of The Contenders To Be The Next England Manager...

We outline the possibilities.

Here we are again then, Sam Allardyce is out after a glorious 66 days and 20 hours in the job - the only England manager to maintain a 100 percent win ratio throughout their tenure. A man who for the above picture alone will surely go down as a legend of our national game.

As one of my colleagues has pointed out, at least he can take solace in knowing he went out like a true English hero: eating a Chinese and necking a pint of wine.

So once again we're on the lookout for the manager to fill Big Sam's boots. Here are the options weighed up, along with their chances of being offered the job...

The mouthy Mancunian has demonstrated his tactical nous during his time on Sky Sports, but there remain lingering doubts over his ability to cut it in the big leagues.

He was previously touted to replace Roy Hodgson, but his record as assistant England manager during Euro 2016, along with his ill-fated spell as manager with Valencia, meant he never got the call.

What am I saying: He didn't cut it in La Liga and he's just another armchair gobshite. Fuck that.

Once described by the BBC as a 'dangerous and distant animal' and lest we forget the time the silver-hair cockney tried to deck Arsene Wenger, nobody's saying that Pardew's brand of no-fucks-given hot-headedness would be the best way to restore credibility to one of the biggest jobs in international football.

But he's done a decent job at Palace and who knows if his total lack of temperament might be what's needed to give England's players a much needed kick up the arse.

What am I saying: He seems like a big of a dickhead, but he might be the type of dickhead England can get on-board with. Why not?

Since Capello packed his bags, there's been a tendency to avoid foreign managers - and what's more he's German.

However, there's no doubting the current US and former German manager has experience of international football at the highest level. If he wants the job the only real argument would be whether we should have a non-English gaffer. Though our chances of winning penalty shoot-outs may increase.

What are the bookies saying? 12/1

What am I saying: It's not that he's not a good manager, but you wouldn't have a foreigner playing at left-back. Sorry, but as far as I'm concerned, I want an English manager. #Brexit

It's been announced that he'll take over temporarily for the next four games while England searches for somebody to take over permanently, so really he has the chance to show what he's all about in that time.

Win all the games convincingly and you never know. But we all remember him bottling it at Euro 96, so he probably shouldn't count his chickens before they've hatched.

That said, has done an impressive job with England's under 21s - leading them to their first Toulon tournament title since 1994 this summer.

What am I saying: It's his to make an impact, so let's just see how he gets on.

This Lad

Yesterday we broke the news that the previous England manager was in fact a steak bake. Following this revelation, maybe it's time for a re-evaluation of the FA's position on him.

What are the bookies saying? 1000/1

What am I saying: Get a steak bake into the setup? All gravy as far as I'm concerned...
