It sounds amazing.

Actor John Challis, who starred as used car salesman Boycie, has revealed writer John Sullivan's plans for a final episode of the classic sitcom Only Fools And Horses.

According to Challis, he had planned to get David Jason, who starred as Del Boy Trotter and Nicholas Lyndhurst, who played his brother Rodney, back in their council flat in Nelson Mandela House one last time.

It would have also seen the return of Trigger, Denzil and Boycie's wife Marlene, and would have provided final closure for all the characters.

But Sullivan died in 2011 of viral pneumonia aged just 64 and was unable to complete the script for the special episode, which would have been released for the show's 30th anniversary.

Challis told the Daily Star: "Just before John died he was actually getting together a special for us.

"It was going to be Del Boy's 65th birthday - for which everyone would meet at The Nag's Head - and retirement.

"Everyone was going to be part of that but unfortunately John got ill and never recovered, so it never happened."

Only Fools and Horses first aired in 1981 and ran for seven series and 16 Christmas specials until 2003.

Earlier this year the show's lead actor, David Jason, said he would reprise his role of Del Boy if the right writer was found.

The 77-year-old said: "It would be good to do Only Fools and Horses but we haven't got a writer; if we had the wonderful writer, the lovely John Sullivan, we would I tell you!"

So it looks like we might have to wait for another episode, but in the meantime we can always revisit the classics...

Classic Only Fools And Horses Scenes

There's plenty of gags in Only Fools and Horses - what about the amazing chandelier scene?

To remind you - Del Boy, Rodney and Granddad have set themselves up as chandelier cleaners. Del Boy met a woman called Lady Ridgmere and she needed her chandelier cleaned, so Del Boy offered to do it for a mere £350. Cushty!

Granddad lifted up the floorboards to unscrew the chandelier while Rodney and Del Boy waited with a sheet to catch it.

What could possibly go wrong?

Apparently the director threatened to sack anyone who laughed when they were filming the scene because they could only do it once. He had to stuff a handkerchief in his mouth to stop giggling!

My personal favourite is when Del Boy and Rodney dress up as Batman and Robin.
It was the best Christmas special ever, in my opinion (even better than GARY)! Trigger is boasting about getting an award from the council for using the same broom to sweep the streets for 20 years - even though the broom has had 17 new heads and 14 new handles!

Boycie invites Del Boy and Rodney to a fancy dress party and they dress up as Batman and Robin - the costumes are hilariously bad. But their van breaks down and they're pretty reluctant to go outside in their costumes and embarrass themselves.

Rodney is sure that the empty streets will suddenly flood full of people that will laugh at his Robin costume.

So they decided to run through Peckham - and inadvertently stop a crime!
