J.K. Rowling Is Bringing Out Another Wizarding World Book

J.K. Rowling made her screenwriting debut when she penned the highly anticipated Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them movie script. However, we now know it will be released later this year as a hardback book.

It's all a bit confusing, so I'll try and simplify it out. This isn't another Harry Potter book. However, it is set in the same world. It's the same as the movie, and will be published on 19th November, the day after the movie's release on 18th November.

Also, this is different to the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child script book, which will be released later this year after the new stage play of the same name.

This book was partly written by Rowling however, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is all her own writing. Get it?

An announcement was posted on Pottermore earlier today (the global digital publisher, e-commerce, entertainment and news company of J.K. Rowling's Wizarding World).

It read: "As the excitement for Fantastic Beasts continues to build, we can now reveal that J.K. Rowling's screenwriting debut will be published later this year.

"A new book from J.K. Rowling is always a good reason to celebrate. But this year will mark the first time the author has published a screenplay, which you'll be able to buy as a print edition from Little, Brown (UK) or Scholastic (US and Canada), or as an eBook right here on Pottermore."

It's great as J.K. is certainly wanting to keep all Harry Potter 'spin-offs' as close to her roots as possible. Why not have everything released as a book? That's where she started and where most of us fell in love with the world.

Harry Potter and The Cursed Child is a two-part West End play due to open this summer.

The story is set 19 years after the very end of the final book and follows the story of Harry (as a Ministry of Magic employee) and his son, Albus.

However, loads of Harry Potter fans (myself included) were absolutely gutted when tickets sold out in a matter of seconds. So the fact that she's ensured that all of her fans are catered for with the release of a script book is amazing.

The front cover - which is subject to change - states 'based on an original story by J. K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany.'

However, the latest book is written solely by Rowling. She wrote a short version of Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them for Comic Relief back in 2001, but this was merely 'inspired' by the textbook.

The film features big names, including Academy Award winner Eddie Redmayne, Colin Farrell, Ron Perlman, Dan Fogler, Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Samantha Morton, Gemma Chan, and Jon Voight. So just a few.

The film is about a 'Magizoologist', called Newt Scamander, who spends his days tracking down magical creatures in 1926 New York.

Details on how to pre-order the screenplay are coming soon. So keep your eyes peeled. I know I will.
