North Korea inviting golfers to play on course where Kim Jong-il allegedly got 11 holes-in-one

Kim Jong-un's dad - Kim Jong-il - apparently got 11 holes-in-one during his first ever round of golf.

I'm calling bull****, and so are you, but that's what state media are saying.

I mean, if you asked the former supreme leader about his golf tekkers, he'd probably hit you back with a: "Completed it mate," otherwise known as a Jay Cartwright special from The Inbetweeners.

So, according to reports, the North Korea’s official tourism agency has invited amateur players to take part in the annual Ryomyong Golf Tournament, at the Pyongyang Golf Course - where Kim Jong-il supposedly delivered a masterclass in golf.

The Ryomyong Golf Tournament’s president 'warmly welcomes golf enthusiasts from all over the world who wish to attend Pyongyang golf tours', one article is quoted as saying.

Another post reportedly said: "The Pyongyang Golf Course hosts an amateur golfers’ competition in spring and autumn every year.

"Foreign amateurs can also take part in this competition held in spring and autumn in our country and develop friendship with Korean amateur golfers."

OK but seriously, the odds of making a hole in one are 12,500 to 1 and for professional golfers, the odds drop to 2,500 to 1, according to insurance provider and event promotions company American Hole ‘n One (AHNO).

But if there is thing the AHNO say you need to have in abundance, it's confidence, something Kim Jong-il will not be lacking.

"Some golfers say they can just feel it – it’s the optimism and confidence that comes along with playing the game," the company said.

"You need to have confidence that you’ll get the hole in one as you walk up to the tee.

"While many novice golfers might get intimidated on a tricky hole, professional golfers are focused on where he or she wants to land the ball.

"Think deeply about the area you want to pinpoint your ball and don’t worry about any obstacles like water, sand pits, or trees.

"After you’ve focused in on your target, square yourself to the hole.

"Your left shoulder should be facing the hole and your left foot should be directly underneath your left shoulder.

"Setting a foundation is key to acing a hole-in-one.

"As you bring your club back to shoulder height, come through the ball with speed and velocity.

"Take a full, aggressive swing to better your chances of making a hole in one."

North Korea do like an 'aggressive swing' to be fair.
