Apparently, she began poisoning her husband after becoming bored of sex.

A Nevada woman has pleaded guilty to poisoning her husband's food and drink in order to avoid having sex with him. Law enforcement officials now believe that she is hiding in Mexico.

In 2015, 49-year-old Andrea Heming admitted to the crime, but has since gone on the run before having to face justice for her crimes.

Heming admitted to slipping boric acid into the man's Lucky Charms cereal and energy drinks when he wasn't looking.

A police report states Heming told police: "I wouldn't use that much to kill him, but just enough to make him not have an erection."

Boric acid is a chemical commonly used by exterminators to get rid of cockroaches and caused the man to suffer from diarrhoea and nose bleeds, much to his initial confusion.

"I had been getting sick awhile back. Like six to eight months. I got stomach cramps," he complained.

The night before she was supposed to be dealt her sentence, Heming slipped through law enforcement's nets and made a run for it. She's been missing ever since but apparently police now believe her to be hiding somewhere in Mexico.

Heming's then-husband, who identified himself as "Ralph", said that his ex-wife had a history of erratic behaviour towards others and that this sort of thing wasn't focused solely on him -

"She did reveal to me a story where she was a flight attendant at one time, and she had a customer - you know a passenger who she said was unruly," he told 3 News.

"She actually put sedatives in her drink."

Annoyed that she had managed to run away, he continued: "I thought we had a better system of keeping track and holding people responsible."

She could be facing 15 years in prison.
