If you're an iTunes or an Apple Music user then this may well be of particular interest to you.

Occasionally you probably get an email from Apple about your billing if you're subscribed to their streaming service, or if you've purchased an album - LOL who pays for music you geek!

There is now a hoax email doing the rounds which looks almost identical to the legitimate Apple email but for god sake, do not open it!

Apple themselves have now issued a statement on this scam warning users to ignore it.

The email in question claims the user has purchased a song or album (which they haven't bought) for usually around £23.

There is then a link to 'cancel and manage subscriptions' but the link will take you through to a fraudulent website that will probably give your laptop the black death.

Apple have reminded people of their own actual company policy: "The iTunes Store will never ask you to provide personal information or sensitive account information (such as passwords or credit card numbers) via email."

This email will usually say in the headline 'Apple' followed by a smaller 'TM'. An actual Apple email would not brand 'TM' in the headline so that is worth remembering.
