Donald Trump Sent One Tweet And It Cost A Company $3.5billion

All in a day's work.

When you're on the brink of becoming the most powerful man in the world, you really need to have a think about all the responsibility that comes with it. Donald Trump certainly doesn't seem to be one for all that thinking, though.

Today he managed to knock $3.5billion (£2.7bn) off the stock value of Lockheed Martin thanks to one of his tweets. Which is actually kind of impressive...

He sent the stock prices tumbling after posting that the company's F-35 fighter jet programme had a cost which was 'out of control'. He added that billions of dollars will be saved after 20 January, when he becomes president.

That one little tweet was enough to see the aerospace company's shares fall by three percent, knocking off over $3.5bn from its market value, too. Bloody hell.

The Independent reports that the drop is likely to be temporary, which is good news for Lockheed Martin, but goes to show how the president-elect's online musings can have a pretty massive impact on investors.

Only last week he tweeted Boeing to threaten its 747 Air Force One programme and this led to a $1.4bn hit for its market value.

I'm not sure who is still allowing him to tweet, but they probably need to be sacked.
