Kids With Cancer Given Water Instead Of Chemo In Mexican Hospitals

Very sad indeed.

Suffering from cancer is grim enough when you're an adult, but when it's children it seems too cruel - and horrible to witness. That's why it's so outrageous that Mexican hospitals have been giving children water instead of chemotherapy.

It's all part of a truly sick money-making scheme, according to one local politician.

Miguel Angel Yunes Linares, governor of Veracruz in east Mexico, said the "brutal crime" was found out after investigations into his predecessor Javier Duarte, who has strong links to the Cartel.

It all sounds like a particularly vicious story from Narcos, doesn't it? How could someone be so evil as to give children with cancer fake medicine?

Miguel said that the medicine was tested and found to be nothing more than distilled water - which is still dangerous to inject into children in large amounts.

The investigation is ongoing and legal complaints will be made.

Javier Darte is on the run after a probe into missing government funds - it's thought he stole or embezzled £1.6 billion in the six years he was in office. Giving children fake medicine and taking the money for their cancer treatment is a shocking low - even for a man whose reign involved the streets running red with blood and mass graves along the coast.

It's unsure whether the fake medicine resulted in any of the children's deaths, but we can only hope they're getting the proper chemotherapy now.

And let's hope they find Javier Darte.
