Joe Biden has issued an official proclamation declaring June as Pride Month in the US for the first time in years.
The 46th President of the United States has sought to recognise and fight for LGBTQIA+ people in the country.
In an official White House statement, Biden said: "Pride is a time to recall the trials the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ+) community has endured and to rejoice in the triumphs of trailblazing individuals who have bravely fought - and continue to fight - for full equality.

"Pride is both a jubilant communal celebration of visibility and a personal celebration of self-worth and dignity.
"This Pride Month, we recognize the valuable contributions of LGBTQ+ individuals across America, and we reaffirm our commitment to standing in solidarity with LGBTQ+ Americans in their ongoing struggle against discrimination and injustice."
It's the first time this has been done since Barack Obama was in Office as Donald Trump tried to steer clear of an official proclamation.

In fairness, Trump became the first Republican President to acknowledge the rainbow month existed back in 2019.
The former leader tweeted a message to millions of Americans, saying: "Let us also stand in solidarity with the many LGBT people who live in dozens of countries worldwide that punish, imprison, or even execute individuals on the basis of their sexual orientation."
However, he stopped short of an official White House proclamation.

Trump did issue several June-related proclamations during his time as President and declared the month to be National Homeownership Month, Great Outdoors Month and Caribbean-American Heritage Month.
Joe Biden has proudly declared a large proportion of his staff are openly LGBTQIA+ and he hopes that serves as an inspiration for workplaces all across the country.
He wrote: "Members of the LGBTQ+ community now serve in nearly every level of public office - in city halls and State capitals, Governors' mansions and the halls of the Congress, and throughout my Administration.
"Nearly 14 percent of my 1,500 agency appointees identify as LGBTQ+, and I am particularly honored by the service of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, the first openly LGBTQ+ person to serve in the Cabinet, and Assistant Health Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine, the first openly transgender person to be confirmed by the Senate."
