63-year-old woman who feels in her 20s reveals her secret to ageing backwards

63-year-old woman who feels in her 20s reveals her secret to ageing backwards

Gym Tan says you shouldn't be afraid to get older.

A woman who has gone viral on TikTok for her age-defying looks has shared what she believes is the fountain of youth.

Gym Tan has racked up nearly a quarter of a million followers on the app and many people are shocked at how old she is.

The 63-year-old makes no secret that she's in her 60s but the Californian woman says she feels much younger.

“It’s my birthday today and I’m 63. I said before that I actually think I look younger this year than I did last year," she said in a recent video.

“I think what is keeping me looking younger is not thinking about my age.

“Age is just a number - but more than that, just focus on what makes you feel good.

“I always think if something looks good, smells good and tastes good, then it’s good for you.

“So, I just want to come on and say to all of you that life is short - enjoy it, be happy, surround yourself with people who love you and that you can learn from.”

So there you have it, that's Gym's secret to feeling and looking younger.

Two years ago, she posted a clip where she said she was exercising and moving more in her 60s than in her 20s.

Incredibly, she was clocking up an average of six miles per day from running and walking.

"This is the fittest and best shape I’ve been in my life!" she said in the video.

“I’m running further and stronger than in my 20s. So don’t be afraid of getting older, life really can and does get better.”

Gym said when she was in her 40s and 50s she worried about how she was going to look when she was older.

The 63-year-old influencer says women in particular are 'trained' to think that they have an 'expiration date' at a certain point in their lives.

She explained that people can feel 'invisible' when they reach that part and it can be debilitating.

However, she's called on people to embrace ageing.

"I realise there's nothing to be afraid of," she said in the clip.

Her fans hail her as an inspiration and hope they can look like her when they go through the decades.

One person wrote: “I love the journey you’re on. You are inspirational!”

Another said: “Growing older is a privilege. Love your content."

A third wrote: “People like you make ageing look like a blessing. Every birthday is. I'm 56 and I have more wrinkles but life is perfect.”
