Instagram Is Going To Let You Know Who Views Your Stories

Instagram Is Going To Let You Know Who Views Your Stories

RIP, creeps.

For pure decency reasons, the majority of social media sites/apps do not disclose information regarding profile views.

Social media is all about showing off. People are naturally going to want to have a peek at the public lives of others if it's offered to them on a plate, so to create a feature where people can be outed and in a way humiliated for doing this seems a bit stupid.

Still, Instagram, in their bid to become more like Snapchat, are putting an end to the creeping of thirsty lads.

They plan to allow users to see not just how many views their videos are getting, but WHO is viewing them. It links in with the launch of Instagram Stories.

Here's how:

To view somebody's story, tap their profile picture at the top of their page. On occasion, the profile picture will appear a different colour if there's a new story to view. Like Snapchat stories, they will auto-delete after 24 hours.

When it comes to your own stories, simply click your profile icon in the top left of the app and swipe upward. You will then see an eyeball image which will show you how many people have viewed the post and who.

Quite straightforward really, isn't it? But a game-changer all the same. There go the good old days of hitting up my colleague's sister on the 'Gram.

Did you know all this other stuff about Instagram? Probably. But I didn't and I'm famous for being savvy with technology, so I'm gonna assume you didn't either.

Detagging

Find yourself waking up on a Sunday morning, fully-clothed, mouth as dry as Jimmy Carr's stand-up, to check your phone and see some horrible photo you've been tagged in.

Some find it the banter in it and leave the tag, others, not so much.

Simply go to the photo, press the options button, select "Photo Options" and then hit "Remove Me from Photo" and go back to sleep a slightly happier camper.

Clearing Search History

I've never personally deleted my search history and I don't understand why others would. Still, for those who frequently do, here's how you do it on the Instagram.

Go to your profile, choose options, scroll down said options, and hit "Clear Search History." There's a bit of a pattern emerging here, isn't there? Options and then clicking the obvious choice.

Seeing All The Posts You've Ever Liked

This one I left to last cause I think's it's genuinely quite a good feature and one I actually didn't know about.

To see all the pictures of models and memes you've liked, go to your profile, click option, and then select "Posts You've Liked."

Fuck. That's the same thing again. The same process. Dunno about you, but I feel very stupid.
