People are apparently forking out thousands of pounds for a fiver due to its serial number.

According to the Daily Mail, a bloke called Gareth Wright put a new bluey note on eBay as it had 'AK47' on it.

For those of you not in the know, an AK47 is a kind of assault rifle.

At one point, the bidding was at nearly £66,000. However, Mr Wright thinks that some of the bids may not be genuine.

Apparently, the bidding jumped from £1,000 to £6,000, from £10,000 to £50,000 and £50,000 to £60,000.

eBay has insisted that bids will go ahead and that it's very careful when it comes to any potential 'unhelpful bidding activity'.

Best get looking in your wallets then. You might be literally sitting on a fortune.
