Dog Put Down After Her Eyes Were Pulled Out Of Their Sockets

Shame on them.

For any dog lover - actually for any normal human being - this is one of the hardest articles. Sometimes, I much prefer dogs over humans. That's very much the case after hearing about what some knobs thugs did to a poor stray dog in Mexico.

Authorities are investigating the torture of a female dog, named Boxy, after several people held her down and pulled out of eyes with their fingers, reports the Sun.

The ignominious act of cruelty happened in the colony of Plan de Ayala Sur in the city of Merida, which is situated in the south eastern Mexican state of Yucatan.

An animal activist, identified as Connie Sosa, posted the graphic images of the dog online after Boxy the dog had been rescued.

She said that she had rescued the dog in the hope that it might have been possible to reinsert its eyes into its sockets.

However, despite Sosa's efforts, the injuries that the innocent dog sustained were too serve. It was then agreed that the dog should be put to sleep.

The dog's condition even prompted a petition on Change.org to demand a huge punishment for those responsible for torturing Boxy.

Boxy is thought to have been a stray after being abandoned by her previous owners.

Sosa, who has reportedly worked to save abused animals for six years, said that it is not uncommon to see horrific attacks which occur almost daily on strays.

She also revealed that, as well as Boxy's attack, another small female dog recently died after being covered in sticky glue.

It's not even like I can say, 'my thoughts go out to those who were closest to Boxy', because she literally had no one until her last moments before she was put down.

On behalf of the human race, I'm sorry to Boxy and all other stray animals who have suffered from thugs who have probably never loved anything in all their lives. Shame of them.
