The EU Says 'No Way, Jose!' To Netflix Banning You From Watching Shows In Other Countries

At long last.

The EU is going to force Netflix to allow users to watch series from other countries it has been announced.

The European Parliament is passing legislation which will in effect stop any content providers, mainly Netflix, from blocking certain subscribers via IP address.

Current standing restrictions mean that Netflix refuses to show people from other countries new series released in the US for sometimes months.

The EU has said a big, fat "nope" to all that.

Mind you, the goal is not to appease those impatient with having to wait to watch certain shows, but for people to be able access their own music and films away from home whilst travelling in the Continent.

If the Legal Affairs Committe, Parliament and the European Council all approve the notion, it will coincide with the end of roaming charges in Europe.

It's believed that when roaming charges are nulled, punters will be more likely to cash in on music and film from other nations.
