Have you ever bought something on eBay and it's turned out to be nothing like the description? Years ago my mate bid on, and won, a 'brand new in its box Nokia' (pre-smartphone days) and when it arrived it was in a box but it wasn't a Nokia. It was Nokla.
That there illustrates the dangers of buying second-hand stuff online. But I don't think anyone could fault this woman's description of her wedding dress, in fact, she's probably been a bit too honest, if anything.
Samantha Wragg is selling her wedding dress on eBay. It's on the site for £500 which, I'm told. is a good price for a wedding dress. The pictures show a typical wedding dress: it's big, it's white, it's got lace all over the place; but the description is where it gets interesting.
"Great condition but needs dry cleaning before wearing to get rid of the stench of betrayal," it starts.
She then goes on to say that she's mainly selling to pay for her divorce. And apologises for only having two pictures of the dress, but she burnt the rest as soon as she found out her husband was living with another woman, which seems fair enough, under the circumstances.
Here's the description in full. Credit: eBay
"If you want a dress that is full of bad memories and shattered hopes and dreams then this is the one for you!" This seems a bit much. I mean, do you want to sell this dress or not?
She ends the description with "If you've got any questions - either about the dress or the skank that my husband ran off with - then please feel free to contact me!"
Advert
It's got no bids so far. I'm not sure why...
