Malawian Newspaper Use 'Crying MJ' Meme Picture For Article About Michael Jordan

DANK!

If you haven't seen any variation of the crying Michael Jordan meme, you should probably take an all intensive course in memes. You're not only failing yourself, you're failing humanity.

Strewn across the internet are millions of memes using MJ's crying face to iterate the true heartbreak of your alarm going off, your mum telling you Smart Price pizza is for tea, someone not sending nudes etc, you get the picture.

The photograph has lost all sense of its original meaning now, due to the high volume of dankness it produces. That didn't stop a Malawian newspaper using the picture in an article about a statement Jordan made regarding violence between the African American community and the police force in the US.

The original picture was taken as the former NBA star took to a podium during his induction into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame back in 2009.

As far as I can work out, memes using the picture began to circulate in late 2014, and really began to take off in early 2015.

Since, it's hard to go a week without seeing at least five variations of MJ's glistening, tear-soaked cheeks.

I guess memes aren't that popular in Malawi. Shame.
