If you’ve binge watched your way through Fool Me Once and are looking for a new show to get stuck into, there’s a gripping 2020 series that might be right up your street.
With the bad weather sticking around for the time being, it’s the perfect opportunity to get yourself reacquainted with your telly - but if you’ve already worked your way through Harlan Coben’s back catalogue and are on the hunt for something new to watch then you may want to give this little-known series a watch.
The Deceived stars Emmett J Scanlan - who you may remember as Shane in Fool Me Once - and Normal People star Paul Mescal, alongside Emily Reid and Catherine Walker.

The four-episode mini series centres on Ophelia (played by Reid) who begins an affair with her married lecturer Michael (Scanlan).
However, their affair is thrown into chaos when a tragic and shocking death takes place, leaving the student unsure of who she can trust.
Talking about his character, Scanlan said: "He's excellent at his job in the university, and he knows it.
"He's intelligent, confident, and has his students eating out of the palm of his hand. He manipulates and charms not only his students, but people in general — he's used to getting what he wants when he wants it."

The show originally aired on Channel 5 and is available to stream on My5 or Netflix - a synopsis from Netflix reveals: “A student's illicit affair with her married professor takes a sinister turn when a shocking death makes her question their love — and her sanity.” Sounds juicy, eh?
The series has received a smattering of 10 star reviews from viewers on IMDb, with one person saying the thriller has ‘plenty of twist and turns’ and that it will ‘keep you entertained from beginning to end’.
Another said: “I thought this show was really fun, it had me on the edge of my seat.”
Meanwhile over on X, fans have also been quick to sing its praises, with one saying: “Just binged The Deceived on Netflix. Omg amazing.”
