There is one final season of the hit Netflix show Stranger Things on the way but that doesn't mean we'll hear no more from the iconic series.
A live action spin-off series had already been confirmed last year, with show creators the Duffer brothers revealing that the story would be linked to the upside-down but would follow a fresh bunch of characters.
They said that spinning Stranger Things off into individual shows about the main cast was 'not interesting to me because we’ve done all that', preferring instead to tell new stories in their supernatural world.

Despite this there have been some fans hoping that certain stars of the show could get more time in their own personal limelight, with calls for Steve (Joe Keery) and Robin (Maya Hawke) to get their own personal spin-off.
Instead it seems as though the future for Stranger Things is animated, with Netflix confirming that they're getting an animated series set in the Stranger Things world.

The Duffer brothers are going to be executive producers on this new spin-off show which is as-yet untitled.

Animation studio Flying Bark Productions will be bringing the series to life, their previous works include Marvel's What If...?, Glitch Techs and Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Writer and animator Eric Robles will be taking the lead on the project, having previously created animated series Fanboy and Chum Chum, and Glitch Techs.

With a selection of spin-offs in the pipeline there's plenty of content coming to keep Stranger Things fans interested and subscribed beyond the fifth and final season of the show.

There's even going to be a stage show, Stranger Things: The First Shadow which is set in 1959 and opens in November 2023.
An animated series might be especially helpful for a spin-off to the show considering that quite a lot of fans are noticing that the kids who play the main characters are really ageing out of their roles.
The first season of Stranger Things premiered back in 2016, the fifth and final season isn't expected to arrive until next year at the earliest, making it a long time and stretching the belief that any of them are still in high school.

As for more news about the confirmed animated series of Stranger Things, we'll just have to wait for more information to drop.
