Netflix viewers are still gutted about the fact that they’ll never get to see another season of an ‘unexpected hidden gem’.
The streaming platform has got a bit of a reputation for leaving certain fandoms unimpressed after axing their favourite shows - just last month fans of Shadow and Bone bombarded Netflix’s social media accounts with demands for the return of the show and back in March fans of Young Wallander were equally as gutted when their favourite series was cut.
And it seems that fans of a show cancelled all the way back in 2019 are still smarting - not least because it was left on a cliffhanger.

Intriguing mystery drama series The OA launched back in 2016 and centred on Prairie Johnson (played by Brit Marling) - a young woman who vanished while blind, only to turn up seven years later with her vision returned and calling herself the OA, short for original angel.
Following the first season, titled 'Part 1', Netflix announced a second was in the works, titled - yep, you guessed it - 'Part 2', much to the delight of fans.
However, although The OA’s creators had originally planned it to be a five season - or five-part - series, just months after the second season landed Netflix announced it was cancelled.

As you can imagine, fans were unimpressed by the move - particularly as 'Part 2' had ended on a cliffhanger - and urged the platform to renew the show.
And, more than four years on, fans are still heaping praise on The OA and are gutted that it won’t be coming back.
In a post on the Facebook group Netflix Bangers, someone asked: “What's the most unexpected show or movie you stumbled upon while scrolling through Netflix that turned out to be a hidden gem?”
This prompted a bunch of The OA fans to sing the praises of their favourite show, while lamenting the fact they’d never get an ending.

One person said: “The OA. Literally one of the best TV series I've ever seen.”
Someone else agreed: “My heart still breaks every time I remember it was cancelled. It had so, so much potential.”
While a third said: “I literally cry when I think about it never having another season. Best series I've ever seen.”
Another wrote: “Loved The OA. Still sad it got cancelled after season two.”

The OA, which is still available to stream on Netflix, holds an impressive 7.8 on IMDb, while on review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes it holds a similarly admirable audience score of 84 percent.
