Provocative crime thriller Fool Me Once is a new Netflix series which follows grieving wife Maya Stern (Michelle Keegan) who is trying to come to terms with the murder of her husband, Joe Burkett (Richard Armitage).

After the funeral, Maya installs a nanny cam to keep an eye on her two-year-old daughter Lily (Thea Taylor-Morgan).

However, when inspecting the footage, the mum is shocked to see her husband who was filmed on camera in the house, playing with Lily.

Netflix says Keegan's character 'uncovers a deadly conspiracy that stretches deep into the past.'

As Detective Sergeant Sami Kierce leads the investigation into Joe's death, viewers have recognised the actor who once played an iconic role in cult British comedy Four Lions.

The dark-comedy film was about a group of radicalised young British Muslim men who aspire to be suicide bombers.

Staring alongside the likes of Riz Ahmed is Adeel Akhtar, the detective in Fool Me Once.

In Four Lions, Akhtar plays Faisal who famously took centre stage in the 'Can I have 12 bottles of bleach' scene.

Faisal attempts to master the art of going undercover when he purchases 12 bottle of bleach while Barry (Nigel Lindsay) is not impressed with his different voices.

Once viewers of the Netflix show clocked it was Akhtar, they could no longer look past his portrayal as Faisal.

Taking to X (Twitter), one viewer said: "Just started Fool Me Once on Netflix. Michelle Keegan’s new one.

"Immediately recognised detective Kierce is Brother Faisal from Four Lions. Can’t take him seriously as a detective now."

"It's all i could think about hahahahahaha when he makes weird faces and that i just think 'can i have 12 bottles of bleach please'," another joked.

"Rubber dinghy rapids innit bro," referenced a third, as a fourth commented: "So glad I found this out after. Would’ve changed everything otherwise."

Meanwhile, others were reminded just how good that scene was from Four Lions.

"No laughtrack, no background music, no sound effects, just pure, brilliant British comedy. Got me out of laughing out of breath," one viewer said.

"Peak comedy right here it's honestly art. the timing, the expression, the dialogue that made no sense," another added.

"'Cos she's got a beard' - five best words I've ever heard in a movie," a third wrote.
