Netflix viewers have been left horrified after watching one particularly grizzly scene in Evil Dead Rise.
The horror flick landed on Netflix last week and has quickly fired its way into the Most Watched list.
Evil Dead Rise, which is the fifth instalment in the Evil Dead movie franchise, centres on estranged sisters Beth (played by Lily Sullivan) and Ellie (played by Alyssa Sutherland) who find themselves embroiled in a deadly battle against the deadites - demons which are attempting to take over the bodies of their loved ones.

Written and directed by Lee Cronin, Evil Dead Rise has a solid 6.6 on IMDb, but fares better on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes where it holds an 84 percent critics' score, alongside a slightly lower 76 percent audience score.
An official synopsis teases: “Moving the action out of the woods and into the city, Evil Dead Rise tells a twisted tale of two estranged sisters, played by Sutherland and Sullivan, whose reunion is cut short by the rise of flesh-possessing demons, thrusting them into a primal battle for survival as they face the most nightmarish version of family imaginable.”
The movie, which was released in cinemas earlier this year but is now streaming on Netflix, has one particular scene that caused a bit of a stir with viewers.

Without giving away any spoilers - it involves a cheese grater and it does not involve any cheese.

The scene was so impactful that director Lee Cronin says he gets asked to sign cheese graters for people.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the vomit-inducing sequence, he told Entertainment Weekly he wanted something 'particularly visceral' for the scene.

He said: "I walk into my kitchen, and then I saw the cheese grater sitting there, and I was like, 'Ooh, I have to use that.'
"[I] probably paused lunch and went back and wrote a version of what that could be like."
Horror fans have flocked to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their thoughts on the gruesome scene, with one person writing: “I can never look at a cheese grater the same after watching Evil Dead Rise.”
Another said: “Yes the puke scenes bugged me and made me queasy but did not hurt me the way the CHEESE GRATER did. Ugh I could almost feel it.”

A third said: “Saw is my fav movie franchise, so I’m not weak to cinema gore… but the cheese grater scene in Evil Dead Rise will haunt me forever. Holy f**k.”
Someone else posted: “Gore in horror movies rarely bothers me but god the cheese grater scene in Evil Dead Rise literally makes my skin crawl.” What more can you ask from a horror movie, eh?
