First Generation Of Skins Cast: Where Are They Now?

First Generation Of Skins Cast: Where Are They Now?

Some of them have done pretty well for themselves.

It's hard to believe it's almost been 10 years since Tony, Sid, Michelle, Cassie and co. burst onto our screens in the hit teen drama Skins.

If you didn't sit on your bed watching it bare excited to go on drug-fueled benders at sixth form, did you even have a childhood? Of course when you did finally become a sixth former you realised it's impossible to get that fucked up every weekend on £20 a week EMA. Seriously, how did they afford all that gear and parties? Unrealistic expectations. SMH.

It had everything from sex and suicide to eating disorders and teenage pregnancy. But where are the first generation of the first series now?

Tony was Skins' central character in its first and second series and he proper went through the mill, God bless him. Remember when he became a victim of subdural hematom? Damn, that was bleak. Before the show he was well-known as 'the kid with the eyebrows' for his portrayal of Marcus Brewer in About A Boy. What a film that was.

After he left the show in 2008, the now 26-year-old found significant commercial success after landing the role of Beast in the X-Men films. He also briefly dated Jennifer Lawrence so, for this reason alone, he is without a doubt the show's biggest success story if you ask me.

Hannah Murray

Cassie was by far my favourite character because she was really eccentric and also a mega babe. Her character also touched on some incredibly important issues such as anorexia, low self-esteem, suicide and drug addiction.

Unless you live in a cave and you don't watch Game of Thrones, you'll know that she now plays a Wildling in the HBO series called Gilly. I can't lie, I let a little cheer out when she turned up on the show in the second series. Love her.

Joe Dempsie

Chris was the crazy pill-head who, according to the official Skins website, would "smoke/screw/rob/snort anything." However, in the series, he tragically died of a brain haemorrhage like his brother in Season 2. Remember when the the guys all celebrated their A-Level results and then went to his funeral? I never did quite get over that.

The 29-year-old, from Liverpool, went on to star in Doctor Who, This Is England '86 and, same as Hannah Murray, he then landed a role on GoT. He now plays Gendry who is an illegitimate son of King Robert and a potential heir to the Iron Throne. Imagine that. Though we haven't seen Gendry for quite some time.

April Pearson

Michelle, aka 'Nips', was probably everyone's crush at one point. She was Tony's girlfriend and always ensured she was "looking shaggable." She was also well aware that Tony's mate, Sid, was completely in love with her.

The 27-year-old actress went on to star in a few short films and music videos and, according to her Twitter, she's now part of the Laboratory Theatre Company.

Dev Patel

Despite being raised in an Islamic household, Anwar loved to party, take drugs and shag about. However, he was uncomfortable with his best mate's Maxxie's sexual orientation.

The 26-year-old hit the big time when he went on to star in the Oscar-winning flick Slumdog Millionaire and ended up winning several awards.

Mike Bailey

Sid was the unlucky virgin who was nervous around girls and totally in love with Tony's girlfriend Michelle. However, he got to bang her in the end so it was all good.

The 28-year-old went on to star in a few dramas including a 1066: The Battle for Middle Earth and teen comedy We Are the Freaks. Don't worry, I've never heard of it either.

I'm off home to start Season 1 from the beginning on Netflix again.
