Daniel Radcliffe talks about the possibility of him appearing in new Harry Potter TV show

While new actors have been confirmed for the iconic roles, many want to see Daniel Radcliffe return in a cameo role.

It has been over two decades since we first saw Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter, a character we will forever associate with the British actor.

For those non-diehard Harry Potter fans, you may have missed the announcement back in April that a live-action series based off the classic films and books is on the way.

In a statement from the recently rebranded Max, previously known as HBO Max, the live-action series will become a 'decade-long series produced with the same epic craft, love and care this global franchise is known for'.

The statement continued: "The series will feature a new cast to lead a new generation of fandom, full of the fantastic detail, much-loved characters and dramatic locations that Harry Potter fans have loved for over 25 years.

"Each season will be authentic to the original books and bring Harry Potter and these incredible adventures to new audiences around the world, while the original, classic and beloved films will remain at the core of the franchise and available to watch globally."

Since the announcement, JK Rowling has since been confirmed as an executive producer on the show, while the likes of Neil Blair and Ruth Kenley-Letts have joined her.

HBO Max has confirmed a 10-year plan for a TV series reboot of Harry Potter.
Warner Bros.

"We are delighted to give audiences the opportunity to discover Hogwarts in a whole new way,” Casey Bloys, the chairman and CEO of HBO and Max Conten said at the time of the announcement, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"In partnership with Warner Bros Television and JK Rowling, this new Max Original series will dive deep into each of the iconic books that fans have continued to enjoy for all of these years."

Sounds pretty cool, right?

Well, a lot of you have probably jumped out your seats asking one question: 'Where is Daniel Radcliffe?'

While new actors have already been confirmed to be taking over the iconic roles, many had hoped Radcliffe would crop up in some type of cameo role.

Understandably, a lot of fans want Daniel Radcliffe in the live-action series.

Unfortunately, Harry Potter fans should not exactly get their hopes up, with Radcliffe himself admitting he doesn't see much chance of him making an appearance.

"My understanding is that they're trying to very much start fresh and I'm sure whoever is making them will want to make their own mark on it and probably not want to have to figure out how to get old Harry to cameo in this somewhere," he told ComicBook.com

"So I'm definitely not seeking it out in any way. But I do wish them, obviously, all the luck in the world and I'm very excited to have that torch passed.

"But I don't think it needs me to physically pass it."
