Kim Kardashian slammed after son is seen walking out with Lionel Messi before game

People were hugely divided after seeing Saint walk out onto the pitch hand in hand with Lionel Messi

Kim Kardashian has been criticised after her son Saint West walked out as Lionel Messi's mascot yesterday.

While it's no secret that the Kardashian children pretty much have it all, Saint seems to have really pushed the bar high with this one.

Eight-year-old Saint - who Kim shares with ex-husband Kanye West - was seen holding Messi's hand as they approached the field ahead of Inter Miami's game against LA Galaxy in Los Angeles on 26 February.

Kim, 43, shared the clip on social media, captioning the video: "Saint walking Messi out on the field tonight at the LA Galaxy vs Inter Miami game!!! He is living the absolute dream!"

But it didn't go down well at all with fans, with some claiming that Kim had taken the opportunity away from another child.

"Would be awesome if some kid actually deserving of it got that opportunity. Not someone who was incredibly lucky to be born to billionaires," one wrote.

While another said: "Money can buy happiness. Debate closed!"

And a third added: "Talk about privilege. Hope he can kick the ball," as a fourth asked: "How much did you pay?"

Others were quick to defend Kim over the video, however, with many pointing out that Saint is still a child and is entitled to fulfil his dreams, regardless of who his parents are.

"People mad at this are pathetic," wrote one. "If you could do it for your kid you all would if that’s what they wanted. Kim can and she did."

While a second added: "That’s AMAZING, @KimKardashian!! He’s definitely living his best life as he should!"

"Saint is a huge soccer fan and has always loved it so much and that makes him extremely deserving," said another. "You think having a family and resources that make that available and possible for him make him less deserving? That's very myopic thinking."

LADbible has reached out to Kim's reps for comment.

Kim regularly documents Saint's love of football, and Messi in particular - who is considered to be one of the greatest footballers of all time.

Last year, the mum-of-four took Saint and several of his friends to London and France to watch Arsenal and later, Paris Saint Germain.

During the trip, she also organised a meet-up with one of the players as well as a video call with another.

She explained: "I am taking Saint and his best friends and their moms on a trip to London and Paris. It's called our Soccer Mom Tour Trip.

"Our boys love soccer and they're obsessed with all the players from Mbappe, Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar, Saka. You name it, they're obsessed."
