Hugh Jackman is back training to become Wolverine for Deadpool 3

Hugh Jackman is back training to become Wolverine for Deadpool 3

The Australian star is returning as Wolverine now that the actors strike is over.

Hugh Jackman is getting back into the gym now that the actors strike is officially over in Hollywood.

The Australian star was one of hundreds who were affected by the strike earlier this year as they had to stop work on all projects until a deal could be done.

It's hard maintaining such a ripped physique when the future is uncertain so it would be no surprise if the 55-year-old had a bit of time off lifting weights.

But now that the strike is over, it's time to pump the iron.

Jackman posted a video of him deadlifting some serious weight and he captioned the upload with 'LFG (let's f**king go').

He said he was 'becoming Wolverine (again)' and fans were blown away with his dedication.

"Unreal. Could CGI himself into a beast but taking the long road. Love it," one said.

Another added: "Love seeing that Wolverine grit!!!"

A third wrote: "The one and only! no one will ever replace him he's the paradigm of Wolverine."

It's hard to believe this bloke is 55 and he's killing it in the gym.

It seems Jackman is listening to his fans after he posted a similar video of him working out last month.

It was a clip of him bench pressing and some followers said he should focus a bit more on leg day.

In the lead up to Deadpool 3, Jackman says he consumes over 6,000 calories a day as he bulks up for the film.

And on an episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the Aussie actor promised to be ‘bigger than ever’ and spoke about his fitness regime and strict diet.

“No, I love my job. And I love Wolverine. I got to be careful what I say here, but I had been told anecdotally what the side effects are of that. And I was like, ‘I don’t love it that much.’ So no, I just did it the old school way,” he told viewers.

He later joked about the amount of chicken he’d consumed as he adopted a clean eating diet.

“I tell you, I’ve eaten more chickens — I’m so sorry to all the vegans and vegetarians and to the chickens of the world,” he quipped.

He added: “Literally the karma is not good for me. If the deity has anything related to chickens, I’m in trouble.”
