Oscar-winning actor Rami Malek - most famous for portraying Freddie Mercury in Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody and set to star as the latest Bond villain in this year's No Time To Die - turns 40 today (12 May). But did you know the LA-born actor has an identical twin brother?

Yep, Rami shares his birthday with Sami Malek.

You'd think when you were naming your kids you'd want them to sound a bit different from each other, but not for this family. The Maleks have got Sami and Rami.

While Rami has become an award-winning actor, his brother Sami opted to stay out of the bright lights of Hollywood and instead chose to pursue a career in education.

Rami and Sami Malek. OK, they do look pretty similar.

But being twins, you're probably wondering whether they ever used their likeness to their advantage. Well, of course they did.

Rami told a brilliant story to Jimmy Kimmel in 2015, saying: "So he [Sami] calls me one day... he goes, 'Hey, do you know a Greek monologue from a Greek tragedy?'

"Yeah, of course, I've just been doing this for four years. He goes, 'Listen, I need you to come down to my university' - a major American university here in Los Angeles.

"He goes, 'I need you to do this for my class. It's gonna give me the points I need."

Rami continues: "I go, 'Yeah I'm gonna get my points and we're gonna make this happen.'

"And I deliver this monologue in front of the entire lecture hall and I get a few [bits of] applause, people dig it. And I think she starts looking at me kind of accusatorially, like, 'Where the hell did you come up with that?'

"I told her, 'Er, it's just a hobby.'"

I wonder if Rami ever had to sit in on his brother's teaching classes and pretend to know about mitosis or advanced algebra.

He admits that 'we don't look alike as much as we used to', but you can probably imagine they got up to some good ol'-fashioned twin-swapping pranks when they were younger.

It appears that Sami enjoys sitting in on his brother's fame as he's been spotted backstage on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and at the Golden Globes. But I guess when your bro is up for a bunch of awards you'd tag along with him.
