Keanu Reeves Is Auctioning Off A One-To-One Zoom Call For Charity

How much would you be willing to pay for a one-to-one Zoom call with Keanu Reeves? That is not a hypothetical question.

Yep, forget those god-awful family quizzes, you could be sharing a virtual call with none other than John Wick himself.

The 55-year-old is auctioning off the opportunity to raise funds for Idaho children's cancer charity, Camp Rainbow Gold.

The highest bidder will win 15 minutes one-on-one with the man from The Matrix, which will take place at a mutually doable time during the week of 6 July.

A description of the '15 Minutes of Fame with Keanu Reeves' experience reads: "Bill & Ted. Speed. The Matrix. John Wick. You know him. You love him.

"This is truly priceless and now you have the chance to Zoom with him from home! Get your questions ready and spend 15 minutes with actor, director, producer and musician, Keanu Reeves."

Strictly speaking though, this experience is not priceless, quite the opposite. At the time of writing, the highest bid sits at $16,100 (£12,800), though this will no doubt rise a fair bit by the time bidding closes at 12pm MDT (6pm GMT) next Monday (22 June).

If Keanu is a bit dear for you, then there are heaps of celebs currently using Cameo in lockdown. The platform enables you to buy personalised messages from stars - and enables stars to earn the easiest money they'll ever make.

Harry Potter star Tom Felton, for example, sells his services on Cameo for £176.79 ($222.16), which admittedly is pretty spenny too.

At the cheaper end of the scale, there's The Inbetweeners star James Buckley, who charges the comparatively small fee of £41.50 ($50).

The actor, who made his name as Jay, makes no bones about why he got into the shout-out business in a video on his profile.

He says: "Now, I get asked a load of times to do video messages for people, and I could never be bothered to do it, until I found out that there was a way that I could do it for money.

"So if you want me to congratulate your brother's birthday or maybe hurl some abuse at a friend of yours who's getting married or something like that - I can do that all for you now, for a fee.

"Again, here for the money."

Well, fair dos I suppose. No doubt most of us would sell shout-outs if there was anyone on this Earth willing to pay for them.
