A good deal of mystery surrounds the relationship between rap royalty Jay Z and Kanye West.
Clashes over business dealings and Jay's absence from Kanye's wedding to Kim Kardashian are understood to have played a part in the souring of their friendship, which by their own admission has been far from plain sailing in recent years. As Kanye put it in an interview with Zane Lowe in October: "With Jay, I love all of these people, but you got to know there's a lineage of Jay to Ye to Drake.

"It's, this person is your idol. Then you get to know 'em, then you be friends, then you turn to frenemies, then you turn to enemies, and then you gotta bring back the positive energy. But that is the lineage of rap kings and inspirers."
It seemed like there was plenty of positive energy between the two though at the 50th birthday bash of Diddy (Puff/P/Puffy/Sean Combs, you know the guy).
The party was held at his Los Angeles mansion on Saturday (even though his actual birthday was on 4 November) and the pair were pictured together for the first time in a good while. As well as posing for photos, footage also showed them having a brief chinwag too, smiling all the while.

Unsurprisingly, the rappers were among many A-listers in attendance, along with Beyonce, Post Malone, Offset, Kim Kardashian, Nelly and Pharrell.
Opening up about his relationship with Kanye in an interview in 2017, Jay - who turned 50 earlier this month - said their relationship was brotherly.
Speaking to the New York Times, he said: "I love Kanye. I do. It's a complicated relationship with us.
"Kanye came into this business on my label. So I've always been like his big brother. And we're both entertainers. It's always been like a little underlying competition with your big brother.

"And we both love and respect each other's art, too. So it's like, we both - everyone wants to be the greatest in the world. You know what I'm saying? And then there's like a lot of other factors that play in it. But it's gonna, we gonna always be good."
