Emily Ratajkowski Hit 10 Million Instagram Followers And Stripped Off To Celebrate

Congratulations, Emily.

Model and actress Emily Ratajkowski has hit a big social media milestone and has celebrated by posting a picture of herself in a bathtub in the nude, wearing only her specs.

Talk about model behaviour.

Reaching 10 million Instagram followers puts Emily in the big leagues - she's slowly catching up with fellow model Kendall Jenner who has more than 70 million. To put it into context - Emily has more Instagram followers than the population of Greece.

That's a huge deal!

Of course, Emily is not just your average Hollywood actor/model, she's not even close and that's what makes her such a legend. Her outspokeness about women's rights has eclipsed her work at this point and the 25-year-old has become a disputed figure in feminism.

She first hit the headlines when she starred in Robin Thicke's Blurred Lines video back in 2013 which was internationally blasted for its sexism. Robin has since slithered off the world stage with his tail between his legs after numerous allegations of sexual harassment and his wife, Paula Patton, swiftly divorced him. Emily came out of the whirlwind of media around Robin (a mere 612,000 Instagram followers) and the controversial video with her reputation in tact and with newfound influence - and perhaps interest - in women's rights.

Since then she's been trying to position herself as advocate for body positivity - a hard thing to do in a world where women are slammed for their bodies. And in a United States where women are being stripped of their rights and Planned Parenthood clinics are being shut down.

When pal Kim Kardashian (more than 89 million Instagram followers) put up a controversial naked selfie in March, she was attacked for being well, Kim Kardashian. Emily defended her by saying women have the right to "express their sexuality and share their bodies however they choose". Which is true - women do have the right to do what they want with their bodies.

Except, of course, Instagram has a policy against nudity - unless it's art.

So then Kim and Emily recreated the now infamous photo in Kim's bathroom. Both naked. Both famous. Both empowered by their own sexuality. The photo went viral - but this time, for all the right reasons. Women standing up for each other can never be a bad thing.

Getting some true feminism kudos, Emily was then featured on Girls' star and creator (2.9 million Instagram followers) Lena Dunham's newsletter Lenny's Letter where she called time on shaming and said she refused to live in a world of shame and silent apologies: "Honouring our sexuality as women is a messy, messy business, but if we don't try, what do we become?"

Emily has taken this to new levels by making collages of her nude body and turning them into Christmas cards for her friends and family.

I'm not sure my grandma would appreciate it if I did that, but then I'm not a swimwear model.

When not making divisive comments on feminism, Emily can either be found chilling on a beach with her model mates like Bella Hadid, or on set filming movies like Gone Girl in which she played Ben Affleck's mistress and the lead role in We Are Your Friends alongside Zac Efron.

Clearly being a body positive actor/model is paying off! Here's to the next 10 million, Emily!

Oh yeah, and here she is in the bathtub.
