Stranger Things writers have posted a warning about what season 5 might look like

Stranger Things writers have posted a warning about what season 5 might look like

After months of fans waiting for an update about the Netflix show, writers shared an eerie animated clip

As anticipation for the fifth and final season of Stranger Things builds, fans have been given a first glimpse of the series.

While you might think they’d be excited by the clip, their joy soon turned to disappointment as they watched the creepy video of Steve Harrington.

Shared by the writers of the Netflix series, the video was uploaded as part of a pointed warning about what the series could

look like without it's core cast.

With the Writers Guild of America strike finally over after five months, fans had hoped this would see the Stranger Things creators return to work.

Sadly though, the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) has yet to make an agreement with studios, with the union walking out over pay and the use of AI in the future.

Though negotiations are still ongoing, writers behind the hit Netflix series decided to ramp up the pressure on studios by sharing the creepy video to Twitter.

Sharing the eerie animation of Steve Harrington (usually played by Joe Kerry), they wrote: “Hope the studios make a fair deal with SAG soon or else season 5 is looking like this.”

The showrunners then revealed that the video was a ‘rough’ version of a scene, which would later include ‘lots of VFX or complex action.’

Having waited for months for any update, fans were a little horrified by the clip and left plenty of brutal responses in the comments.

The cast is set to return for the fifth and final series.

The clip now has over 2.6 million views on Twitter, with many fans making light of the animation.

One even wrote: “Stranger Things season 5 made entirely in The Sims.”

Another shared a gif of a spaced-out Steve Harrington, with the caption: “...when you order steve harrington on wish.”

Meanwhile, other fans also put pressure on studios to end the months-long SAG strike and shared their support for actors.

Uploading an eerie image of multi-dimensional villain Vecna, a third fan commented: “All of us outside all the studio headquarters demanding the actors to get fair compensation.”

If that weren’t hilarious enough, the writer later uploaded another clip that looked like it had come straight from the Upside Down.

This time the pre-vis animation showed Jonathan Byers (Charlie Heaton), with what can only be described as lego hair in the awkward animation.

Reacting to the viral video, a fan wrote: “Now who is that supposed to be because that is not Charlie.”

Here’s hoping that SAG and Netflix finally come to an agreement soon.
