Following on from the success of the Little Britain's one-off radio special last year - dubbed Little Brexit - show creators David Walliams and Matt Lucas are hoping to work together a whole lot more.

That's because the fan favourite series is set to make a comeback, with Walliams confirming plans for a full return - but he's unsure whether it's going to involve old material, brand new stuff or a mixture of the two.

Speaking to The Sun, the 48-year-old comic explained: "I would say there will definitely be some more Little Britain coming. I can't say when exactly but at the right time and place. It was fun coming back for radio because that's where we started.

"We had to put it together quite quickly as it was about Brexit. Plus no one expected us to come back on the radio. You would have expected Comic Relief or a big live tour. The reaction was great, which was encouraging."

He added: "Matt and I have been getting lots of offers to do more things together again. We just need to decide whether it is revisiting something we've already done or working on something brand new or doing both those things."

One thing that Walliams - who will be hosting the National Television Awards next week - has pointed out is that times have changed since Little Britain first hit our screens.

Walliams continued: "You'd definitely do it differently because it's a different time. There's all kinds of tolerances that change. You've got to understand comedy for me is celebrating things."

Speaking to the Radio Times back in April, he explained: "It's a different time now. You'd make any comedy differently. We started working on Little Britain nearly 20 years ago, because it was on radio first.

"It's hard to say specifically how it would be different. There's all kinds of tolerances that change. People understand people's predicaments more now. Maybe it's, 'We see this differently, we've got more information,' and it would be a different type of joke."

In December, Walliams appeared on This Morning where he revealed that they 'might' do more but were 'just talking about it at the moment'.

Chatting to Holly and Phil, he said: "Matt has his last night in Les Miserables stage show tonight and we are meeting up to speak about our future plans.

"We did a special episode called Little Brexit that we started on Radio 4, and yeah, we would love to do more - or maybe something new."

What a time to be alive.
