If you're hopelessly devoted to Grease then you'll be pleased to see that the stars of the classic musical have donned their costumes for the first time in 41 years.

The film was released in 1978, but John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John rolled back the years, getting into character as Danny Zuko and Sandy Olsson for a singalong event in Florida, USA, on Friday.

Sharing a snap on Instagram, Newton-John said: "First time in costume since we made the movie! So excited!!"

Fair play to Newton-John and Travolta, the pair scrubbed up well at 71 and 65 respectively.

Newton-John also got into her leathers later on at the 'Meet N' Grease' singalong at the Coral Sky Amphitheater in West Palm Beach.

The singer and actor recently sold the leather jacket she wore in the film for the frankly ridiculous price of £185,000 at a charity auction. In an additional ridiculous twist, the anonymous buyer then returned the jacket to Newton-John as well.

In a video, the buyer presented Newton-John with her old jacket and said: "This jacket belongs to you and the collective soul of those who love you, those for who you are the soundtrack of their lives. It should not sit in a billionaire's closet for country club bragging rights.

"The odds of beating a recurring cancer using the newest emerging therapies is 1,000-fold greater than someone appearing out of the blue, buying your most famous and cherished icon, and returning it to you.

"For this reason I humbly and respectfully return it to its rightful owner."

A clearly emotional Newton-John replied: "That is the most incredibly generous thing to do for me. I am so grateful, and I am just blown away."

Newton-John's coat sold for £185,000.

The proceeds from the jacket will go towards the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Center in Melbourne.

Newton-John was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992 and she underwent a partial mastectomy, chemotherapy and breast reconstruction, but the disease subsequently returned in 2013 and 2017.

Reflecting on her fight with the disease, she said: "The whole experience has given me much understanding and compassion, so much so that I wanted to help others going through the same journey.

"With more and more people affected by cancer every day, I believe we are in a world desperate for healing, and I'm committed to doing whatever I can to help. I also believe that when you go through something difficult, even something as dramatic as cancer, that something positive will come of it."
