Disney+ UK Launch Date Has Been Brought Forward To 24 March

The streaming service will cost £5.99 per month and £59.99 annually

Disney+ has moved their launch date for markets across Western Europe forward from 31 March to 24 March. They announced the news with a clip featuring internet sensation Baby Yoda.

As well as the date for the streaming service being released, The Walt Disney Company has also set the prices which will be fixed at £5.99/€6.99 per month, or £59.99/€69.99 for an annual subscription.

According to a press release from Disney+, it will launch in the UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria and Switzerland on 24 March. Additional Western Europe markets, including Belgium, the Nordics and Portugal, will follow in summer 2020.

All 30 seasons of The Simpsons will be on Disney+.

But what do you get for your money? Well, predictably, a whole lotta Disney... but not only that, you will have access to the company's other iconic entertainment brands, including Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic, as well as exclusive original programming including feature-length films, series, documentaries and short-form content made exclusively for the service.

Packed full of over 7,500 episodes and 500 films, signing up to the Disney+ streaming service means you get entire franchises at your disposal - from Toy Story, The Little Mermaid and Pirates of the Caribbean to Star Wars.

Titles featured stem all the way back to Disney's origins, including Pinocchio (1940), Fantasia (1940), Bambi (1942) and its first animated feature film Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs (1937). Brand new productions, including the Lady and the Tramp 'live-action' remake which forwent a cinema release to launch exclusively on the service, are also included.

Plus, Disney classics, such as Alice In Wonderland, Beauty and the Beast, The Jungle Book, Cinderella will also be available.

At launch, subscribers will have access to the critically acclaimed The Mandalorian from executive producer and writer Jon Favreau. They'll also get High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, a creative modern take on the hit franchise complete with meta references, a fresh documentary-style feel and a soundtrack which features nine new original songs.

Plus there's The World According To Jeff Goldblum, which explores the wonderful and often astonishing world of deceptively familiar objects.

Subscribers will be able to enjoy the Disney+ experience on nearly all major mobile and connected TV devices at launch, including gaming consoles, streaming media players and smart TVs.

Users will access high-quality and commercial-free viewing, up to four concurrent streams, unlimited downloads on up to ten devices, personalised recommendations, and the ability to set up to seven different profiles, including the ability for parents to set Kids Profiles that have an easy-to-navigate, child-friendly interface to access age-appropriate content.
