After getting more Grammy Award nominations than any other artist this year, it's not hard to see why.

Lizzo has been an absolute tour de force this year.

If you haven't heard of this incredible, body positive, no f**ks given artist then we feel bad for you because she is amazing.

Ever since her third album, Cuz I Love You, was released she's been jetting all around the world, slaying performances and reminding everyone to be kind to each other.

It's this message, along with her absolute bangers, that have earned her TIME Magazine's Entertainer of the Year award.

The magazine's Samantha Irby wrote: "Surely, in the year of our lord 2019, you know who Lizzo is. I mean, even if you don't think you know, girl-you know.

"She's on the soundtrack at your Zumba class, her voice is blaring from the headphones of the guy across from you on the train, and your daughter is locked in her bedroom scream-singing, 'I just took a DNA test/ Turns out I'm 100 per cent that b***h'."

The accolade is well earned for the 31-year-old artist who has previously spoken about the lengths she has gone to in order to get her music heard.

Lizzo has racked up more Grammy Award nominations than any other artist this year - not bad at all.

She's told TIME: "I've been doing positive music for a long-ass time.

"After Then the culture changed. There were a lot of things that weren't popular but existed, like body positivity, which at first was a form of protest for fat bodies and black women and has now become a trendy, commercialised thing.

"Now I've seen it reach the mainstream. Suddenly I'm mainstream!"

Lizzo is heading to Australia early next year where she will play two gigs in Sydney and Melbourne - however tickets for those shows sold out in seconds.
