Bella Hadid's public support for Palestine has hit headlines recently, but what is she actually famous for?
Most people will know Bella Hadid as the sister of supermodel Gigi Hadid and the ex-girlfriend of singer The Weeknd, who won International Male Solo Artist at the BRIT Awards 2021.
Born in Washington on 9th October 1996, her full name is Isabella Khair Hadid and she is an American supermodel. Bella Hadid is the daughter of Real Housewives star and model, Yolanda Hadid and real-estate developer, Mohamed Hadid. Bella has two siblings: Gigi (26) and Anwar (21) - who are both models - and two paternal half-sisters: Marielle (40) and Alana (35).

Bella, Gigi and Anwar Hadid are all American, but they all share Dutch heritage from her mother, who was born in Holland, and Palestinian heritage from her father.

At the time of writing this article, Bella Hadid has 42.3 million followers on Instagram and she has used her platform to protest against the current conflict between Israel and Palestine. Captioning a photo of her Palestinian grandparents, the supermodel wrote:

The leggy brunette is 5" 8 inches (1.75 m) tall. Hadid claims to be on a high-protein diet and exercises for upto 3 hours a day in the lead-up to a big event to maintain her figure, according to Women's Health. One of her favourite workouts is boxing.

Bella Hadid has been in an on-and-off relationship with The Weeknd (real name Abel Tesfaye) since 2015.
In December 2016, The Weeknd performed Starboy from his new album at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. Hadid and the singer weren't officially together at that point, but Hadid, who walked the runway during his performance, told E! News "There is no awkwardness. He is my best friend."

Bella has reportedly been in a feud with The Weeknd's ex-girlfriend and singer Selena Gomez over the years; Gomez and The Weeknd were together for around ten months in 2017.
At the moment, The Weeknd and Bella Hadid aren't reported to be officially together, but who's to say what will happen with them in future. Bella's sister, Gigi, rekindled her love with ex-One Direction singer, Zayn Malik, after a break-up in 2013 and the two had a baby together in September 2020.
