Women are just realising they’re not alone in being confused about men’s ‘common’ shower habit

Women are just realising they’re not alone in being confused about men’s ‘common’ shower habit

The female population have been bonding over their boyfriends' shared annoying bathroom habit

It's easy to think that you're the only person in the world suffering their partner's annoying habits, but apparently all it takes to remind you that you're not alone is a viral meme.

Who'd have thought it, eh?

Although the main aim of the game when it comes to memes is that they are funny, it's the relatable ones which really seem to resonate with social media users.

They might remind you of comical anecdotes from your childhood or just perfectly fit into the current context of your life, or in this case, let you know that you're not the only one going through it.

Women have been bonding over the fact their boyfriends all seem to partake in the same unusual bathroom ritual after years of thinking they were the only ones being tormented by it.

One social media user excitedly wrote: "Glad I found this. I feel in peace now that I am not the only one going through this kind of stuff."

Another said: "Hahaha this makes me laugh so much. What’s wrong with them please tell me hahaha."

A third laughed: "You are not alone!"

A fourth added: "Lmao. Why is this true though. Why do they spend so much time in the bathroom?! Lol."

While a fifth chimed in: "If this ain't the truth! Painfully relatable."

I'll give you a clue - it's not blokes trimming their beards and leaving tiny little hairs all over the sink. So, what else could be driving the female population to the brink?

Well, let's set the scene.

You're both at home, hoping to hunker down for the night with a film and your fella says he is just hopping in the shower.

You give him the nod of approval and get the movie marathon setup ready - as after all, they aren't having an 'everything shower' like us girls do or shampooing and conditioning thrice.

Before you know it, 20 odd minutes have gone by. He must be almost done by now, right?

Wrong.

Instead of the flip flop of wet feet on the bathroom floor stomping towards you, you instead hear the sound of the toilet flushing and realise that your blue eyed boy is only just getting in the shower.

One woman shared the extremely relatable meme on Instagram alongside the comical caption: "Was about to hit play on movie night, but turns out we’re still in the opening credits of The Shower Saga."

As well as having a little moan about her man's annoying habit, she dually managed to unite the majority of the female population as women realised they weren't facing ridiculously high water bills and a delayed movie night alone.

A couple of blokes even chimed in on the debate, admitting that it was almost a rite of passage to sh*t before they shower.

One said: "That’s so me."

Another joked: "I speak for all husbands on here, it takes about 15-20 mins to get the right temperature."

And a third bluntly put it: "Best time to take a dump is when you’re about to shower."

It turns out that men seem to genuinely enjoy camping out in the toilet for a bit too - as a third of Brit blokes admitted that they sometimes hide in the bathroom to 'get some peace and quiet'.

A survey of 1,000 lads conducted by bathroom company Pebble Grey in 2018 found that these guys spent an average of seven hours a year in the bog to 'enjoy respite' and 'avoid stress'.

One in four even described the loo as their 'safe place' - while 14 percent boldly confessed that they store items such as magazines, books and even food for their bathroom breaks.

It sounds like the ladies have got a lot more to worry about rather than how long their boyfriend takes in the shower.
