The silica gel packets are designed to help stop the products you buy from being affected by moisture.
So naturally they're great at helping dry out a mobile phone that has gone for a dip in some water.
The YouTube channel says if your phone goes for a quick drink then you should remove the battery, SIM card and SD card (if applicable) and submerge the device in a bowl of the gel beads.
Are you sick of your razor constantly becoming rusty? Chuck it into a bag with some gel packets and they'll work their magic to stop the metal from oxidising

In a surprising twist - the gel sachets can also protect old photos from being damaged by moisture.
You can drop a few packets into a zip lock bag along with the photos to ensure they don't succumb to damage.
Also - if you're coming home from a holiday and you have wet clothes, drop them into a separate bag, along with some of the gel packets, to stop the rest of your luggage becoming wet, mouldy or smelling terrible.
So instead of throwing them away next time you buy shoes, clothing or food, put them to good use.
