He was the chief executive of Turing Pharmaceuticals who received widespread condemnation when he bought the rights to AIDS medication Daraprim, only to jack up the price from $13.50 to $750.00 per pill.
Well, turns out he's not just a bastard to the thousands of people living with HIV who need access to the drug, but he's also a complete shithouse to women.
His Twitter account was suspended this afternoon, following a period of targeted harassment against freelance reporter Lauren Duca.
Martin Shkreli is - let's face it, unsurprisingly - a supporter of a future president who likes to 'grab people by the pussy'. Recently Duca has penned a few pieces critical of Shkreli's misogynist-in-arms, specifically an essay titled "Trump is Gaslighting America" for Teen Vogue, which led to him 'troll' her.
On Thursday, Duca tweeted a screenshot of a direct Twitter message from Shkreli refusing to answer questions about alleged fraud. In it, he asked her if she wanted to be his date to President-elect Trump's inauguration.
Following the message, Shkreli added a line to his Twitter bio saying he had "a small crush on @laurenduca." He also changed his profile image to a doctored photo of Duca and her husband, swapping his face into the image, encouraging his fans to join in the abuse.
It now looks like Twitter has stepped in and banned (or at least suspended him), from the site.
Speaking about it, Duca told Buzzfeed News: "He's an entitled creep and absolutely deserves to have this account suspended - perhaps indefinitely."
Spot on in my view.
