If you've just graduated, you've probably already filled in your fair share of graduate applications. You probably did this grudgingly - because it's the summer holidays - and you have also probably looked into internships or maybe even taken on some rubbish part-time work to make ends meet now that the student loan isn't dropping into your account every term.

For Jade, a recent graduate with a degree in fashion, the idea of a potentially unpaid internship didn't really appeal. So, she decided to become a porn star instead.

Jade, who also goes by the name Carly Rae Summers, features in a new BBC 3 documentary, 'Jade: Why I chose Porn'. She has said: "I don't want to be like every other porn star out there. I want to be me."

And Jade is quite unlike the stereotypical image of a porn star. She has got a septum piercing, pink-tipped hair and isn't plastered in makeup and fake tan.

Her look is obviously in demand, because Jade has been offered plenty of work. Jade can earn anything from £500 for 14 hours work to £1,200 for two days, and she insists that she loves it.

When Jade was just 16, she was sexually assaulted at school. She says that as a result of this she struggles to trust men. But she also says that her co-stars are different. She said: "Guys in real life, they don't treat you with the same respect."

Although it might not be the career of choice for most 22-year-old graduates, Jade loves the job and the opportunities it has produced. Writing for the Huffington Post, she said she wants to use the documentary as a chance to show the side of the UK adult entertainment industry that the media do not and she wants help to dispel some of the negative views people have towards the industry.

Fair play to her.
