"You come at the king, you best not miss" is not only a classic Omar Little mantra, it's perhaps the best way to sum up Jeremy Stephen's failed attempt at verbally shutting down Conor McGregor, during the press conference for UFC 205 in New York, last night.

The UFC featherweight, who was sharing a stage with McGregor to discuss his upcoming bout with Frankie Edgar on the supercard, decided to chime in when 'Notorious' was on the mic and was left wishing he'd just stayed at home for the evening.

McGregor was front and centre for almost the entire event, chastising upcoming opponent, Lightweight Champion Eddie Alvarez at every opportunity, as well as embellishing a few financial details (while McGregor has certainly earned a substantial amount this year, he didn't come close to the $25m he claims to have pocketed from his Nate Diaz rematch). But when Stephens decided to take a break from Edgar to take a cheap shot at the UFC Featherweight champ, the Irishman shot him down in hilariously emphatic fashion.

In the minutes following the put down, Wikipedia users were quick to update Stephens' profile, for him.

Given that Stephens has lost three of his last five bouts, we'd suggest he focuses on one opponent at once and perhaps sharpen his promo skills for the next time he encounters McGregor.
