McDonald's Has A Secret Gold Card Which Entitles You To Free Food

Even Bill Gates has one.

Remember when we found out that Nando's did Black Cards and we all really wanted one? And then Greggs stepped up to the plate with its VIP card and we wanted one of them even more. Well, now it's been revealed that McDonald's do a McGold Card and, well, you get the idea.

McDonald's gives the cards to some celebrities as well as normal people like you or I. But you have to do something heroic or cool, so that counts me out.

One guy called Charles Ramsey got one for leaving his Big Mac to rescue three kidnapped women. I would say that's the very least he deserves.

And a 100-year-old lady called Nadine Baum, from Maryland, got one for being 100 and loving McDonald's more than life itself. Seems fair.

Of all people who don't need one of these, I'd have to say billionaire Bill Gates is right up there.

However, he's got one, as has Warren Buffett - probably because of his food-related name - and actor Rob Lowe, who whipped out his McGold plastic on the Jimmy Kimmel show. Although, he claims that he got his for legit reasons, his mate's dad invented the Egg McMuffin. Not sure if his mate got one, too, I would like to think so.

Sadly, in the UK, it's all a distant dream, because a spokesperson told the Mirror: "Sorry to be a let-down, but the McDonald's gold card does not exist in the UK.

"Individual stores will make a call on the individual, for example a regular customer or local/national hero, but there is no policy in the UK of giving away food to people and no plans to introduce it."

Absolutely gutted, the only thing that can make me feel better about this is Greggs sending me a VIP card. Come on, guys, please.
