A Heart Warming Story of A Little Girl And A Widower Pensioner

Two legends.

This is a story that warms the cockles.

Norah Wood, a four-year-old girl from Georgia, USA, has befriended widower Dan Peterson, 82, after they met at a grocery store.

Dan's wife passed away six months ago and this sweet friendship has meant he has some company, which no doubt also keeps him on his toes.

Norah, who when she saw him in the shop, said: "Hi, old person, it's my birthday today," visits him regularly and vice versa.

During the initial meeting, Dan asked her how old she was and the pair had a photo together, taken by Norah's mum Tara, as reports CNN.

Ten minutes later they separated and it's only when Tara uploaded it to Facebook and someone knew him that they got in more contact.

At the time Dan was suffering with depression and anxiety, but says the chance encounter and subsequent friendship has really cheered him up and means an awful lot.

"That day, I was going through a day of self-pity. I was just feeling sorry for myself, but she changed it.

"She has shown me a depth of love, a depth I didn't know existed."

Dan, who Norah calls 'Mr Dan', will also be having Thanksgiving on November 24 with her family.

The pictures that her mum shared to Facebook show the friendship they've sparked up, and someone's chopping onions in this office right now.
