Police have safely returned a two-year-old boy to his parents after he snuck off on his toy tractor to visit a fair near to their home in Minnesota.

Toddler Kenneth Allen's parents called the police on Friday night when they discovered that their son had taken his battery powered tractor and gone off somewhere.

According to local reports, the inquisitive young boy had taken himself off to a fairground some two blocks away from his house.

Police discovered the missing infant pretty quickly and returned his to his relieved parents within a matter of minutes.

The fair was taking place in Chisago County and the boy had absconded in order to have a look at the Tilt-A-Whirl ride.

Setting off on his battery powered toy tractor, he managed to get there before being found by the police officers of the Chisago County Sheriff's Office, who took him home.

Luckily, it seems as if - despite the seriousness of the incident - everyone was able to see the funny side once the youngster was discovered and then returned home safe and sound.

The police department shared a picture of the child's miniature John Deere tractor and said: "We are out at the Chisago County Fair all night and through the duration of the fair. Stop by our booth and say hello!

"First call of the night at the county fair was a missing 2 year old who drove his tractor from home, to the fair. He was reunited with Dad who promptly suspended his son's license by removing the battery from it.

"We are only one call away if you need us!"

To be fair, it's really lucky that they were there.

Speaking of which, a child recently bolted from a medical centre in Indonesia when he discovered that he was about to be circumcised.

The five-year-old managed to elude doctors and his mother before staging a sit-in on the roof of the centre.

Most Muslim children have this procedure done to them at about this age, but this boy had other ideas.

The doctor shared a photo of the child camped out atop the centre's roof and said: "Throughout my professional history, out of the 20 years I have been doing circumcisions and the thousands of children I have circumcised, this is the first time I've seen a child flee to the top of the roof."

Eventually, a teacher that has a good relationship with the youngster managed to coax him down to the ground again where the procedure was then performed with a minimum of fuss.
