Shocking footage caught by a security camera in a New York Uber car shows the moment a young woman wearing a bra makes off with the contents of the driver's tip jar.
The female in question even stares brazenly into the camera as she plunges her hand into the box of money. Check out the video for yourself.

In the video, which runs for around two minutes in total, there is no indication of the woman's intentions as she sits on the middle back seat, flanked by two of her friends.
She doesn't seem to be interested in the fact she is being filmed and appears not to even notice the clear plastic box, which is full of bills.
However, as the car pulls to a stop, the woman looks directly into the lens of the camera, before reaching into the jar, grabbing a fistful of notes and making a break for it.

At one point, she seems to reconsider, retracting her hand from the box with a jolt, but then she decides to go for it.
By the time the taxi driver glances and notices the empty box out of the corner of his eye, the thief has already made her escape and is too far down the road for him to catch.

The driver reached out to Uber for support on the issue and the firm came back to him with the following statement:
"We understand your frustration with this experience. We've attempted to contact the rider by phone and email, but haven't been able to resolve this issue.
"The rider responded to us and advised us that she didn't steal your cash from the tip jar. If you believe the rider has your cash as captured from your dash cam and is refusing to return it, you may want to initiate a formal investigation via the police."
But the robbed driver said he was too busy with work to take the matter up with the police and spend time filling out a report.
Sadly, the dishonest rider got away with it on this occasion, but Uber says her account has been terminated and that this sort of behaviour would not be tolerated on its app.
"What's been shown has no place on our app and the rider's access to the app has been removed," a spokesperson for Uber told MailOnline.
The Uber taxi service is famous for being completely cashless, but drivers are allowed to receive tips from customers.
