A disabled man says he was left in 'unbelievable' pain and feeling humiliated after a restaurant worker allegedly sprayed cleaning fluid into his eyes.
Fifty-five-year-old Alan Fisher, who has diabetes and osteoarthritis, claims that a member of staff at a Toby Carvery in Sutton Coldfield deliberately sprayed him after an argument over seating arrangements and the temperature of his food.
Alan, who has to use walking sticks to get around, told Birmingham Live he and his friend went to the carvery on 23 December when he got into a verbal disagreement with a member of staff.

He claims that when he and his friend arrived, they found dirty tables, one of which Alan cleared. However once they sat down, Alan says a restaurant worker came over and told them the table was reserved.
Refusing to budge, the pair were later given their meals, but Alan says there was no cutlery and by the time it arrived, the food had gone cold, so he complained.
"If they'd said I could go back to the carvery, there would not have been a problem. I would've gone home a happy customer," he explained.

"The wait for a knife and fork was bad enough, but when I complained my meal was cold, I was told, 'Your plate was warm, you've eaten most of the food on it and you can get out.'"
Alan claims he was then sprayed with the cleaning fluid while he attempted to film what was going on with his phone.
He says the senior manager told him it was 'an accident', adding: "But I was nowhere near the table when it happened, I was near the bar."

Alan says the pain was so bad, he paid a visit to the hospital.
He said: "The pain was unbelievable. My neighbour took me to hospital and my tear ducts are still inflamed.
"The way I've been treated is diabolical. I've been totally humiliated."

A Toby Carvery spokesman said: "We do not condone any sort of aggressive or abusive behaviour made towards guests or staff at the restaurant.
"We are currently investigating this incident internally."
