Donald Trump Mistakenly Claims Noise From Windmills Can Give You Cancer

The US President couldn't be more wrong about his statements.

People joke all the time that there's virtually nothing on this planet that doesn't give you cancer. Studies come up every few months to say your favourite food or that watch you always wear is secretly making you sick.

Obviously that's bollocks and there are tons of stuff that we use every day that won't give you cancer.

But eyebrows were certainly raised when US President Donald Trump recently claimed that windmills could make you sick.

However, it wasn't the windmills themselves, it's apparently the noise they make that will give you cancer.

At a Republican dinner, he said: "If you have a windmill anywhere near your house, congratulations, your house just went down 75 percent in value.

"And they say the noise causes cancer."

Who the hell knows who 'they' are, but 'they' are 100 percent, unmistakably wrong.

This isn't Trump's first rebuke of windmills though, it seems like he has a pure, undenying hatred of the renewable energy source. In the past, the US President has called them 'disgusting', 'inappropriate' and 'an environmental and aesthetic disaster'.

Trump had a widely publicised spat with Scotland over trying to get an offshore wind farm from being built near his golf course in the country because it would ruin the view.

That sparked a war of words between him and then Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond, with the latter calling Trump a 'three times loser'.

A spokesperson for Trump released a statement saying: "He's a has-been and totally irrelevant. He should go back to doing what he does best, unveiling pompous portraits of himself that pander to his already overinflated ego."

Trump has also tried to rally support against windmills back on his own turf by claiming they are 'the greatest threat in the US to both bald and golden eagles'.

Nothing like a threat to the golden eagle to get Yanks all fired up and angry.

Of course that claim is also untrue.

A study conducted in 2014 found that cats, cars and power lines kill more birds than windmills. So unless Trump is willing to exterminate all cats, make people walk everywhere while not having access to power lines, then it looks like birds will keep dying.

And finally, several studies have also found that windmills have no adverse effect on house prices. So it seems like Trump couldn't be more wrong about the topic if he tried.
