Images have been released of one of the women suspected of being the assassin who killed Kim Jong-un's half-brother.

Two Asian women are suspected of the murder of Kim Jong-nam, according to South Korea's intelligence committee.

Investigators are awaiting the results of an autopsy on the body, but he is believed to have been poisoned at Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

The intelligence officials also claim that it was very likely that he was murdered by North Korean agents. Many people are now pointing the finger at Jong-nam's younger, estranged brother, Jong-un.

The woman believed to be involved was captured on CCTV images, which show her wearing a white shirt with LOL on the front, and were released by the Malay Mail.

Forty-six-year-old Jong-nam, who had previously called Jong-un's regime a 'joke', died on the way to hospital shortly after the attack.

According to some reports, he died after he was sprayed in the face with a chemical. US sources have stated that a fountain pen may have been used to spray the poison, which is a technique that has been used by North Korea in the past.

The Daily Mail reports that the taxi driver who took the women away from the airport has now been arrested, but the two women are still at large.

Kim Jong-nam was the eldest son of Kim Jong-il, the former ruler of North Korea and father of current ruler Kim Jong-un. His birth is the result of Jong-il's 'unofficial relationship' with North Korean actress Sung Hae Rim.

It was believed that he would go on to be the leader of North Korea following the death of his father, as he was the eldest son, however, the power went to Jong-un and Jong-nam became an exile.

He has been involved in a number of botched assassination attempts in the past. In 2011, North Korean spies reportedly tried to kill Jong-nam, which ended in a shoot-out between the spies and his bodyguards.

Speaking to a Japanese newspaper in 2011, Jong-nam said: "The Kim Jong-un regime will not last long. Without reforms, North Korea will collapse."

Jong-nam initially fell out of favour with his father when he was arrested at Tokyo Narita airport on a fake Dominican Republic passport. He was detained in China and explained his reason for the visit was to enjoy Disneyland.
