Remember when football manager Harry Redknapp completely lost his rag during a post match interview after a journalist called him a 'wheeler dealer'?

Well he did, and he stormed out of the interview claiming he was just a 'football manager' refusing to speak to the stunned and very apologetic reporter, who failed to claw it back.

But it appears that in the intervening years since that car crash piece of television, the ex-Tottenham Hotspur manager has had a change of heart, and revealed that he is now eyeing up a role as a 'gangster'.

The 72-year-old has been a hit with audiences since he signed up for I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here and admitted this week that he would love to pursue an acting career when he eventually leaves he jungle.

Speaking on the prime time reality TV show, the former West Ham footballer admitted he has his heart set on playing a bad guy in EastEnders, or maybe cast as a gangster in a movie.

DIY SOS presenter turned singer, Nick Knowles, asked Harry about life outside the jungle.

He said: "Do you fancy a bit of acting when you get back?"

Adding: "Do you fancy playing a gangster in a gangster movie?"

The ex-Portsmouth boss's eyes lit up and he even had a name ready, as if he'd been waiting years for someone to finally ask him.

He then went on to do a pitch perfect impression of a dodgy gangster.

He joked: "I could be a slasher! Slasher Redknapp.

"Jimmy, he's taken a right liberty with me. Sort him out. You know where he is. Trim him up, give him a couple of slices."

'Slasher' went on: "Tell him if he does it again it will be the last time."

But it wasn't just Jamie Redknapp's dad who thought he would make the perfect villain, entertainer John Barrowman also said he could see his fellow camp mate starring as the leader of a criminal gang.

He said: "Harry would make a great mob boss."

And Inbetweeners actress Emily Atack added: "Oh God yes."

It was revealed earlier this week that the iconic footy man had been struggling with life in the jungle and the limited rations, so fellow camp mate James McVey has been giving him some of his vegetables to keep him strong, according to James's girlfriend.

Kirstie Brittain told The Sun: "James is being generous with his food, giving it to Harry because Harry is struggling so much with all the meats.

"James is veggie so he's giving Harry half his veg, which is why he's gotten so skinny."
